Pros

Once you are in, its super hard to get fired. If you are a top producer, which isn't hard to do considering most employees go there as a last hope of a career before they...then you will stand above the rest. Basically this is where good people go to die....because the incompetence will kill you.

Cons

Beyond boring. Lack of innovation or ability to self reflect. Washed out employees. Super slow internally. Very poor pay. Way too conservative. Highly unattractive staff. People are extremely hard to look at.

Business Apps Department has become Indian

Pros

At this point, not too much. Work-life balance is the only thing I like about this company.

Cons

- Company kept recruiting Indian devs and testers year over year and now the department is largely Indian. If there is a new hire, there is a 95% chance that s/he will be from India, and soon they will bring in their spouses. IT department needs to seriously consider the current state of diversity within its technical community. It is not uncommon to have to work with people with broken English or heavy accents and more importantly work ethics centered around micromanaging others if the Indians happen to be a team lead / solutions designer. - Development machines are slow. You will find yourself asking help desk to give you more storage, ram, etc. Visual Studio can become a resource hog pretty quickly. Good luck traversing TFS directories. - Insperity pays at least 10-15K less compared to Houston standards. - If you want to get promoted, make sure other teams know you. Popularity is the key. It doesn't matter if you are a better developer than most others. You do not deserve a promotion. - Long meetings because people love to talk! - Useless managers. You will only talk to them once or twice a year. They don't work with you to help you with your career goals. Just do your job and go home. - Snacks are delivered way too late. You will find yourself asking your scrum master multiple times when you'll be getting snacks.

Pros

Insperity is a great company that has excellent benefits and provides a great work life balance. They encourage you to volunteer in the community, and even allow extra time every quarter for you to participate in volunteering activities. The compensation is more than fair and the people strive to create caring and lasting relationships. Insperity prides itself on great customer service and taking care of its employees.

Cons

I am new employee so I cannot speculate on any downsides at this time. The company and management have been wonderful throughout my on boarding process and I have learned so much from them.
