Pros

Culture is decent - abundance of food and alcohol. They have a hot tub jacuzzi on their roof, laundry access, luxurious office.

Cons

Not managed properly, its the "wild wild west". No company structure. Founders/Co-founders do not know what is even going on in their own company they are buried in their code and engineers or "thug-ineers" as they call it. Social cliques are very evident, there is no unity among teams.

We just gained access to respond to comments so please pardon the delay. While we understand that your thoughts were posted earlier in the year and a lot has changed since (including a new office and more structure, albeit without the jacuzzi and laundry service), we hope that your sentiments have turned more positive. If it hasn't, we welcome you to reach out to discuss your thoughts directly with your leader or with HR.

Pros

Since our service is growing like crazy, Instacart is a phenomenal place for career growth. The team is extremely high-functioning - there isn't a single "weak link". Everyone is excited to build an awesome product/service that has the potential to impact millions of people. Instacart has a very strong hustler culture but also has an incredible and humble appreciation for data. We've got some swagger, but aren't "bro". Lastly, and maybe most importantly, I feel extremely confident in the judgment and decision-making of the C-level team. I also appreciate how often they include everyone's feedback into team decisions.

Cons

Some people don't enjoy Fernet, but it is a wonderful acquired taste. Some people also may not be comfortable with the ambiguity that is inherent to a startup.
