Pros

Everything they say they do on paper looks great. It's a commendable cause and the people who work there are committed to a libertarian mission. If you support that you'll be excited about what they claim to do. And you'll probably think that you're working to achieve it.

Cons

The office culture of this place is a toxic mix. The upper management is out of touch from the rest of the office and doesn't even understand most of the things that their own staff do. Lack of communicating is a problem. The heads of the company spend hours and hours and tons of money on reinventing their slogans, logos, mission statements, and other "branding" stuff. Meanwhile the tasks that matter get shoved off onto underpaid employees or neglected. There's a huge turnover problem here too. Very few *competent* people last more than a year or so. They all get driven away one way or another. The incompetent ones move right up the ladder though and stay forever.

Pros

Good people, passionate about their cause; great place to get a start and gain experience. Good benefits/vacation policy, but no 401k matching.

Cons

Pay is low. Management styles vary widely, and working across teams is difficult as a result.

Pros

IHS is a very pleasant place to work. It stresses outputs not inputs. This means you can choose your work hours as long as the work gets done. You choose how much vacation you take. If you are a self starter, then the management allows you to do alot.

Cons

The management has a hands off management. If you need a lot of direction, you won't get it.
