      Easy work, gets boring

      Pros

      Good introduction to the pricing side of actuarial work. Very low-stress. Great study program. Friendly people.

      Cons

      Not very creative work. Middle management and upper management have very different cultures. Company doesn't have real competitors, translates to little drive to innovate, and it shows.

      Pros

      You have a set schedule and are rarely asked to work overtime, unless you're working on a project that may require you to stay a bit later. The help desk job I worked was 8-4pm, $11 an hour salary when I worked there.

      Cons

      It can take a while to advance in the company, a colleague of mine worked there 11 years before being promoted twice. While some of the "favorites" were able to advance much quicker.
