Pros

Good benefits Good salary Fitness subsidy Stock purchase plan 3 weeks of in class training

Cons

Purely numbers driven. You live or die by your metrics. Long hours. It is not uncommon to stay late or come in on your days off. Everyone is behind in some fashion and just trying to keep up with the amount of claims coming in. Intact does offer a lot of training, but with the nature of this position, should you take a day off for training, your work will be double for the next day and people will not cover for you unless you take 3+ days off in a row. Their are tight deadlines that absolutely cannot be missed or extended.

Pros

As someone just entering the insurance industry Intact has so many career options and provides financial help to get there if you need to take courses. Staff are generally quite friendly and low stress. Lots of focus on work-life balance.

Cons

I've been told that Intact pays a little below average but can't say I know for sure as I have not worked for another insurance company prior.

Sweat shop

Pros

The only good thing about Intact is their pay - very competitive. Some may say there is room for advancement, but it depends what department you are in. And trust me, if you want a life, you don't want to be a manager!

Cons

This is an absolute sweat shop. Workload is unmanageable, and you're expected to work as many hours (evening and weekends) to get the job done. Oh, and no additional compensation or recognition for the extra work. They set you up to fail in your job. I witnessed this at varying levels in the company.
