The culture is too stubborn

Pros

PTO offering is good, positions above entry-level tend to be very stable.

Cons

Upward mobility is limited. The path upward is riddled with abandoned middle-management roles and lateral moves. The company composition is a mashup of many acquired companies, and the cultures of those acquired personnel are often at odds with each other. The culture of the place overall is very antiquated and about as stereotypically corporate as one could imagine. It is a stall point for anyone looking to further their career. If you are looking for a stable role to fill while you pursue something else or study, it's worth a look, but growth by merit takes entirely too long, and employees are reviewed on a "curve" which means that someone always ends up drawing the short straw. Despite repeated talk of collaboration among colleagues, this rarely occurs as teams can be extremely possessive of projects and the knowledge surrounding them. It is understandable for some projects to have difficulty getting started or picking up speed, but misfires seem to be the baseline for performance when it comes to getting any project executed.
