Pros

There are great people to work with on each team. I have loved learning from them with my time here.

Cons

After the ICE acquisition of EllieMae all the good stuff about the company was removed. went from 12 holidays down to 7. Everyone is forced back into the office and they are taking attendance that they say will directly impact your performance review. No more flexibility, I understand if they want people back in the office however they are not being flexible with their employees anymore. If you have to work all weekend or work late you're still expected to come in the next day and work full hours again. This is leading to burnout and people are leaving the company.

Pros

The job paid well enough.

Cons

Just about everything else. I experienced nasty, highly hypocritical management and its resulting school yard bully culture. I should have known on my first day. My orientation was a video expounding on their great and visionary CEO (Dear Leader?). It just went downhill from there. No wonder the job turnover rate was so high. Honestly, I experienced a sort of professional PTSD for almost a year afterwards.

ICE acquired our company and made everybody's lives miserable

Pros

Nothing. I honestly can't think of anything that made my time there enjoyable.

Cons

They took a close-knit, respectful, helpful group of people and treated us like we were unwelcome and they just had to deal with these new employees. They ordered us to adhere to their policies ASAP without any concern as to how rude they came off. They barely answered emails and when they did, they were short and unhelpful, so trying to get anything done from anyone within ICE proper was nearly impossible. Luckily, they ended up selling our specific group to another company and we couldn't have been more excited to leave. Our new company has made us feel valuable and welcome since DAY ONE and they've never stopped. I just feel sorry for the other teams that we had to leave behind at ICE who were begging us to take them with us.
