Pros

Good salary and per diem for hardship places, ability to manage your own work and efficient finance and HR systems and processes

Cons

Fieldwork can be very difficult as you may be let to your own devices at times. Working in war zones means you have to watch what you say and report to HQ because you are literally are on your own. The danger, instability, and insecurity make it difficult to implement quality projects. Promotion is not automatic even if you are a hard worker. Politics determines if you move up, not your work ethic/quality work.
