Pros

Laid back interview process, dealership environment

Cons

Hired on as a service advisor, found out after the fact that I would be wrenching on trucks, and given a bogus title of “service foreman.” This title is garbage. Basically means you’ll be wrenching on whatever garbage that walks through the door, on top of having to run a shift and write repair orders and answer the phone. Considering I left a job that had higher pay doing literally the same thing, I don’t know why they couldn’t get it through their heads that I didn’t want to wrench on trucks there. Even explained this during the interview process. Had 3 weeks of training on how to write repair orders, then thrown to the wolves “running” a shift with employees who weren’t happy I was there at all. Considering the poor mental state that being a mechanic puts you through, I wanted zero part of doing that job. Was told during the interview process that I’d just be helping the guys out in the shop. Lo and behold, after two weeks they ask about my toolbox from my previous job, have me bring it over there to do light repair work, then proceed to schedule things on my technician list for the night that was anything but “light repair work” and order me technician uniforms…..this is not a service advisor position. Not what I applied for. I get that it’s what they need, but it’s not what I signed up for, and clearer communication from the get go would have been a help. So my advice to anyone who applies here is this, don’t take the “service foreman” position, and if it’s offered to you, deny the job unless you’re dead set on doing exactly that. The pay isn’t high enough to do two jobs at once.

Pros

Good pay. Good benefits. Managers are easy to work with.

Cons

Overtime is mandatory and the notice is short. Production area is not climate controlled. Very hot in the summer months. Fall, winter, and Spring months are fairly comfortable.
