Matrixed environment needs getting used to

Management. Management 100% does not care about you at all. The toxicity started at the top which applied pressure all the way down and created micromanaging lower management. They always had something to correct you on, but positive feedback? Never anything specific. During COVID, instead of backing off a bit they doubled down with ensuring we were working as hard as we could. You would also think as an office based position that we would have been allowed to work from home (considering we were supplied with laptops) during all of Sydneys strict lockdowns, but nope... At least not until the last 6 months before restrictions were fully lifted after months of requesting. If you want to work at a place where you're counted as another bum in a chair, work here. If you actually want to be respected and listened to, steer clear. Even when reasonable requests for changes were made (which actually made sense and would have increased productivity and more evenly distributed work load), they refused to ever hear us out.
