Pros

Generous paid time off, but if you take the time you will fall too far behind because there is no support team.

Cons

Management has no clue how to treat employees, weak support team, too focused on 30 day revenue cycle. Not willing to invest in employees future or growth. Micro management over employees that are doing well.

Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

Do not apply at The Woodlands locations for an accounting position if you are a man. I'm a woman and the hiring manager (also a woman) told me she didn't hire a man because he wouldn't fit in. Mostly a bunch of old ladies work in the accounting department. I was one of the youngest on my team and I'm 42! The HR lady told a co-worker of mine that they had raises of maybe 2% or not at all in that location (Spring, TX) for several years. The position I hired in for was a Staff Accountant position, but the expectation were for a Senior position. However, the pay and overtime (20 hours during closing) definitely wasn't for a Staff Accountant job. The management is disorganized, rude and belittles the staff. One lady was given a performance reprimand after only being there for 7 weeks! Communication is poor. Training is non-existent. IT support completely sucks. The accounting software is not an ERP. It is basically a giant database. If you want to go back in time 20 years in software.... go ahead and apply! I voluntarily left as life is short and I'm lucky enough not to have to work, plus found a better job already!

Unhealthy Work Environment

Pros

Flexible hours and plenty of PTO.

Cons

Lots of politics and a very cut throat environment. It seemed that everyone was fending for themselves. People expect all the help from you and when it comes time for them to do their part they are not present. Even though the hours were flexible, I felt like I was constantly on the clock. The stress level can be crippling at times with the end of the month process that they swear by. I truly felt that this was an unhealthy way to live. Some people can do it, but most people don't stay past 3 years which leads to very unqualified workers. No training for any of the new hires. Equipment is constantly breaking. Very unorganized.
