Pros

- infrastructure (IT and lab management) is advanced and organised compared to competitors - safety culture is emphasised - salary is not bad but stagnant - workers are generally nice and there is support for your work - MNC: good for first job - decent benefits

Cons

- progression depends on whether people above you move on and seniority of employment - increments and bonuses are low, offers low basic salary. (Affects your future job opportunities as other companies will look at your basic salary) - turnover is pretty high - cost cutting measures (bonuses) due to global rebranding and restructuring killing morale.

Pros

It is a top global company, so you get exposure to some good global opportunities. If you fit the aggressive culture, you will have a good opportunity for promotion.

Cons

It is a very tough, performance management driven culture. Very formulaic (Read Jim Collins "Good to Great" and "10X" cultures, and you will have a good idea). Standardized delivery, along "factory" lines, run by KPIs, with little freedom to be creative, entrepreneurial or different. Few global systems to support, so much of the delivery is manual in nature. Very aggressive targets are set, sales, profit and cash, and constant performance review pressure applied to extract the maximum from all employees. Heaps of reporting upwards, and constant pressure daily to explain what you are doing, and why you haven't been able to achieve the aggressive targets for that day or week. Work/Life balance is difficult to achieve working for this company. Told to be "10X" and that is what matters. Employee welfare appears secondary, and everything seems to be done for a short term return. If you do decide to join, ensure you negotiate to maximize your base pay, and don't rely on any bonus scheme, as budgets are set with aggressive targets, and it is difficult to achieve any bonus pay unless you have been lucky to have a "10X" year.

Dysfunction, No Vision

Pros

It is difficult to think of any.

Cons

The organization is completely dysfunctional. The management does not have any vision and operates like a start-up despite being a well established organization. Too many deadlines, metrics, moving targets, too much turmoil and organizational changes. Constant hair on fire environment.
