Pros

There are no PRO's the more you work the more you are expected to work. On vacations you are expected to take your laptop and cell phone. Check in twice a day

Cons

To much work Not enough pay Little to no appreciation from upper management No bonus for exceptional effort

Pros

Good people that work in the lab (technicians, engineers) Interesting work - good diversity in projects for the auto industry, good opportunity to work on different things and learn new things as well

Cons

Where to begin.. 1. Management is completely oblivious to hardworking techs/engineers in the lab...they primarily focus on clients/sales, they barely care about the lab itself 2. Overworked and hilariously underpaid (especially as an engineer - no overtime, expected to work 50-60 hours a week easy, and you have to take on multiple responsibilities that aren't even remotely engineering related) 3. No leadership at all. Department Managers have a "hands off" approach with their teams...they delegate away managerial responsibilities such as client questions, scheduling, project management, equipment/quality management, the list goes on... they expect engineers/techs to be above average performers, to go above and beyond, but the managers themselves don't even come close to doing that... 4. As an engineer in the lab, you will have to act as a technician, engineer, project manager, team manager, quality manager, shipping/receiving, sales support, etc...all of those roles meanwhile the actual managers don't have to worry about any of those things..they can just focus on a finance role instead of being a team player 5. Most of the sales staff does a horrenous job quoting projects...you will have to spend a lot of time figuring out what exactly the project is because sales does an awful job of detailing anything if you are young professional, especially an engineer, this is a good place to get some experience for a year or 2, but you can strictly do better!. this is not a long term job at all unless you are happy being overworked and underpaid.
