Pros

-Good stock benefits -Company's vision is very inspiring

Cons

-Favoritism- This is very noticeable in the production floor. It's unfortunately very discouraging when we can clearly see the veteran techs and management level individuals only catering to a select few. A lot of us newer technicians want the opportunity to grow with the company, but so far, we just feel "stuck" with the company. -Levels- There are lower level techs outperforming some of the higher level techs, yet we still have to wait a set amount of years until we get a promotion to the next level. This is probably the main reason why retention rate is low in the assembly floor. The transition from Tech I to Tech II doesn't include a boost in hourly pay, the only thing added is the swing shift differential. -Character- ISI emphasizes positive characteristics which I value a lot, yet a good amount of new/experienced technicians on the floor have not portrayed much of it from my honest analysis. It makes us wonder, does ISI really look for well-driven candidates with great characteristics? Or are they just hiring anyone to fill in the vacant positions from former techs that left for the same reasons listed above?

Pros

Great company and people. Overall the company is a great place to work as long as you have no desire for market competitive growth and/or promotions within the company. 401K isn't great but it gets supplemented with equity that takes 4 to vest at 100%.

Cons

Don't plan on getting a promotion with a salary reflective of the position and any previous experience plus time spent with the company. HR would rather downgrade a position and keep you from getting market pay than see you grow with the company. The company cares more about perception than reality. HR will only consider your experience within the company. That approach enables them to justify the downgrades and lowball offers as "leveling" which forces people to leave for the exact same or higher promotion at a different company and market pay, creating internal churn and poor overall morale. For a younger, cutting edge company, there still remains the old school mentality among enough people in leadership that everyone should be in the office. So much so, they require you to commute to the office----- to take the exact same phone calls on the phone/zoom -------from the cluttered cube environment of the office -------that you would take from a home office .

Pros

Hiring process is more focused on character than experience, which is good for entry-level positions Potentially great stepping stone to other technical careers Room for growth(manufacturing trainer, lead/supervisor roles, offline/engineering technician etc) Great for people who eat sleep and breathe work

Cons

(Depending on the line)Long hours with mandatory overtime, which usually isn't announced until near the end of the shift. Lack of communication from supervisors. Very strict attendance and quality policies, especially for temporary hires, which every new hire starts as. Requesting time off earlier than three weeks in advance is difficult. Shifts can start as early as 5:00, 4:30 or earlier, depending on business needs. Again this is dependent on where you're assigned.
