      Pros

      Very successful company creating, manufacturing, and selling an innovative product which is the only of its kind and lends to an exciting atmosphere. People, floggers and buyers alike are in varying degrees of awe of this product. Most people I have come across are good, intelligent, friendly, and/or funny.

      Cons

      The people can be quite smug about working here and maybe rightfully so given the criteria of potential employees and the ardent interview process. Also, the atmosphere can be a bit too intense. As once overheard, "the [HQ] can be the black hole for fun". I'm not sure levity has ever been witnessed here.

      Pros

      At Intuitive you will never feel like you are working on products that are not the most cutting edge in the medical device industry. Individual performance is always showcased and internal politics are nonexistent.

      Cons

      Intuitive Surgical's fast paced culture causes them to spread shared resources thin. People will shift projects weekly to support whatever project is the "hot" project of the week or month. Some people complain about a tough work/life balance.
