Pros

Unlimited PTO. Will pay for your phone bill up to $150 per month. This department has a good work life balance (you don't have to worry about work after your 8 hours). Work from home.

Cons

Unlimited PTO, but will deny any requests past 15 days. Then just tell us we have 15 days instead of skirting around CA laws for PTO payout when people are laid off or leave. There is a layoff at least once a year. When they announce that a layoff is coming, they aren't transparent about which departments will be affected, so they expect everyone to work at 125%, even though we've been working 125% and that became the new 100% for management. The Billing department commits fraud to all insurance companies so we can maximize our revenues. This company will be audited in the coming years and will be shut down by CMS and state entities.

Invitae is committed to conducting its business with the highest ethical standards. We have no tolerance for misconduct and take all such allegations seriously. We encourage anyone with concerns to report them. We also encourage employees to have a healthy work/life balance including unlimited PTO and remote work options when reasonable. These are some of the benefits that set our culture apart from other companies.

Pros

Engineering Team is Awesome Most people outside of People Operations are not bad excluding Leadership who have blinders on or just don't care.

Cons

HR Leadership and Operations are the most racist of all.... They fired/laid off 90% people of color (black and brown) on the TA team who where high performers and they kept all the low performers who where friends of leadership (very cliquey). TA Leader is clueless and not qualified. Its really sad how team members can give 110% and be key contributors and performer but be the first to get laid off so they can keep their low performing friends.

Pros

No accountability. None. Get promoted and them just do whatever you want. Rise over their IC role and do whatever you want, even if it costs the company a ton of cash which they are currently bleeding a lot of right now. If you get higher up, you'll never be held accountable for any deliverables. Look at their Oncology and other projects, just rest and vest :) Once you're above the IC level, you can pretty much take as much vacation time as you want. "Leads" often take 3-4 MONHTS of time off per year.

Cons

Lots of lip service to patients and healthcare but you also have the CEO, Sean, telling people "Covid isn't as bad as the flu" and they haven't changed their posture since. Employees don't wear masks indoors or even test. Recently things are toxic and the leadership is not paying any attention. We are losing so many programmers and QA testing people that I donno if the software is going to be fine. Sean doesn't realize he's leading a Healthcare company and keeps all the medical advice at a minimum and I am making the very deliberate point point of naming the person that is Alex Furman because his software they called "org one" has stomped the advancement of the careers of lots of people, he is a hated human I say. Why is Invitae bleeding money? I sure hope the investors look into what Sean, Alex, Karthik, Ken, and Eric are doing....
