Pros

Challenging problems to solve. No routine days - very fast paced. Ground breaking technology. The people and culture. My manager is the best I've ever had. Well capitalized. Track record of out performing on technical goals.

Cons

Not yet profitable, so benefits are standard. Things are changing all the time. The growth has been so fast it's hard to keep up at times.

Pros

IonQ's mission to build the world's most capable quantum computers and applications is super inspiring as I believe quantum will help improve the world in many wonderful ways. The culture at IonQ is one where I feel valued and part of the team and where I can contribute my best. I'm working with the smartest and most passionate people I've ever worked with. IonQ has had an exceptional 2023 with us hitting our largest technical goal early and closing a deal to sell multiple systems to an international customer. With quantum being an emerging technology, there is plenty of encouragement to be innovative and think outside the box. Lastly, I am learning news things everyday and I'm having fun with my colleagues and team.

Cons

The company is growing and changing rapidly, which I love, so there are no notable cons for me, but here are some things that others thinking about joining IonQ should know... The pace is rapid and change is the only constant. IonQ is growing fast adding people, office locations, expanding in a couple international locations, landing customer contracts, building out production engineering and other brand new capabilities, adding new (and much needed) engineering processes and procedures and others. This all leads to needing to be very adaptable and flexible, because jobs grow and change quickly, there is organizational changes, all requiring us to learn new skills quickly. I had two different managers my first year here.
