      Honestly, there are no pros; except maybe a paycheck (which is always being threatened)

      I work in the IT group and all I can say is WOW!!! I have never met a group of entirely feckless leaders at any other employer. Their new, know-nothing "ACTING" CIO, is better suited to be a dishwasher at a highschool cafeteria. He completely lacks anything one would look for in an IT leader and most of his minions share the same lack skills. There are a couple of bright spots. The VP in charge of commissions shines as well as a small handful of other people. The company lacks vision, has been slowly bleeding revenue and is laying off people left and right. The ship is sinking and management's response is to hire inept leadership and layoff/fire skilled employees. If you're looking for a role with legal pyramid scheme, working for inept leadership, in an oppressive environment, worried that you may be laid off/fired, then this is the place for you.
