      Pros

      Nothing stays the same for very long. If you are willing to learn and always continue to learn then there will definitely be promotion opportunities.

      Cons

      With the promotion comes more work- as in doing the work of multiple other employees for a single rate of pay since those teams are usually understaffed. With the amount of layoffs in the last few years- nobody ever knows if they are safe.
