Pros

There is always enough work to stay busy. If I want to stay here I have job security. They do not get rid of people unless they are really pressed to do so.

Cons

There is lack of communication. It can be hard to fully trust the administration because they change your job duties quite a bit after the fact.

Pros

The other employees are great. Management is fine. Classes are whatever you make them. A lot of leeway is granted as far as how to conduct the class.

Cons

Pay is low for what's required. You're paid for contact hours, not work hours, so for a class meeting 4 hours a week, you're paid for 4 hours. It takes a lot more than 4 hours to prepare and conduct each class. Most people are part-time, so no benefits.

Pros

If you are truly dedicated to making a change regardless of the working conditions, it is not a bad place to work

Cons

If you are easily frustrated by administrators and others higher in the food chain making decisions which impact you and students negatively, then this is not the place for you. It has become all about the numbers, how many enroll, how many graduate. I am also a professor. Recently I was told to give a student who complained enough points to pass them with a D, even though they were given a second and sometimes third chance to redo coursework.
