      Pros

      If you are truly dedicated to making a change regardless of the working conditions, it is not a bad place to work

      Cons

      If you are easily frustrated by administrators and others higher in the food chain making decisions which impact you and students negatively, then this is not the place for you. It has become all about the numbers, how many enroll, how many graduate. I am also a professor. Recently I was told to give a student who complained enough points to pass them with a D, even though they were given a second and sometimes third chance to redo coursework.

      Great students who need your knowledge and help.

      Cons

      Clique-ish environment, undervalue the teaching staff, top heavy administration that seems to overlap. Too many chiefs that don't care about the students.

      Workstudy work at Learning Center for tutoring

      Pros

      The supervisor was very good and appreciative of the work that I performed. There was a preliminary training session when I began the position and it covered issues and items relevant to the position. Ongoing support and advice was given as the job progressed in service to the students and interaction with the college's tutors.

      Cons

      There were instances when a student had to wait for a long period for his turn, due to times the influx of many students, waiting to be served. This created a situation where they could not wait any longer and had to leave (attend a class or attend to another responsibility.) Everyone was given an equal amount of time in tutoring, but sometimes the queue of students became to long to deal with in a timely manner.
