Pros

Working for Ivy Tech is great because there is a balance work-life and the people here treat you as you are all part of a big family. The benefits package is also great. When you work here you belong to a whole family and everyone is there to help each other, whether it be with work or other issues you may need help with.

Cons

Sometimes there can be a lack of communication through the college which causes difficulty to do ones job. If there were a more consistant message going across between and an insurance that the message was received properly it would help out a lot. There are too many times that one will interpret a message one way and it mean something totally different to someone else.

Some of the people I worked with were just wonderful, incredibly nice people, encouraging and helpful in every way. Some of the students are hard-working and deserve better than they get.

Cons

Some of the supervisors just have no clue what is going on outside their own little world. Minor "speed bumps" become huge obstacles to them because they cannot see alternative solutions. Some take personal offense anytime someone suggests an option that is outside their realm of thinking, and a few are just blatantly biased.

Great benefits, great people to work with. The hours aren't anything too terrible, but that depends more on what department you work in.

Cons

Way too many politics. Typical customer service - the customer is always right. Just accept you will be to blame. No support from upper management.
