Pros

My vacation benefits include 9 paid holidays, 4 weeks of vacation, 4 personal days, and 6 sick days. Vacation does not roll over but resets to 4 weeks every year. Standard match in 401k. 100% on first 3%, 50% on next 2%. Downside is match is annual aggregate paid the following February. ESPP is 5% discount on JPM stock. Bank hours 8-5. I have work life balance, sometimes it leans towards work more than I'd l like. I have flexibility to work from home, leave early, or get in late. The trade off is I get my work done. Annual bonus based on performance. ~$2k for Meets, $3k High Meets, $4k for Exceeds. Plus salary raise that matched the bonus. You do well you get paid well. Understand the game and learn to play it. When that happens then you get the raise. I perform well in my annual rating so I get paid well. I don't love my job but I like what I do. If you believe the grass is greener elsewhere remember the grass is greenest where you water it.

Cons

It is a corporation and one of the largest. The gripes you expect exist here also. Mangers are not qualified to do your job but dictate how you do it; under appreciation; placement of blame; lack of transparency; lack of direction; poor planning; reactive not proactive decision making and more. But like I said, its a corporation and I've see this at every position I have worked. I work for the Pros and the Cons are only an occupational hazard. You can't work this job without them. You learn adapt, overcome, or play to your advantage.

Pros

Meh. Pay is okay and benefits are good. Facilities are also good though workspace is very cramped with people elbow to elbow in cubicles. Not what you would expect for professional level staff.

Cons

Showboats get advanced before the people who understand and do the work. Do you job well everyday and you will thanked for the work and then ignored at promotion time. Do some unrelated work on some committee that really produces nothing of value and you will be lauded. Management has a take it or leave it attitude. If you are not happy please just go. Outside of licensed staff they would as soon hire temps or HB1 visa staff. No reason to hire Americans when you can import staff and ship them home every two years. Most training and almost all HR and IT contacts are through Internet. Pretty dehumanizing. Promotion and hiring are sketchy, little in the way of process and procedure or documentation. Decisions regarding promotion are made long before jobs are even posted.
