Pros

Great research and industry experience, especially if you have a supervisor who teaches, mentors, and exposes you to opportunities

Cons

Very political. It's more about sucking up to the right people than doing your job well. Certain types of individuals are favored: smooth talkers, spin doctors, men under the age or 40, and cute young chickies under the age of 30. If you don't have a boss who supports you and wants to see you succeed, you are sunk. Things you discuss with some supervisors and mentors are not kept in confidence. There is a lack of integrity in the direct supervisory relationship, which I believe is the key relationship to career advancement and job satisfaction.

Pros

Work from home and good pay

Cons

Excessive micromanagement, with even routine leave approvals requiring senior leadership involvement. Lack of transparency around workforce changes and restructuring decisions. Communication gaps between senior leadership and employees, creating uncertainty and speculation. Concerns about employee retention due to frequent organizational changes. Hiring practices perceived as favoring external (Sterling) or former employees over existing talent development.

Our People & Culture team and leadership team offer multiple ways to connect including bi-annual employee engagement surveys with key follow-up actions as well as many all-employee forums to share feedback. We value and invest in our talent as a cornerstone of our strategy and culture and believe this is how we will build a stronger company for the long term. Thank you, JD Power

Pros

Not sure of any pros to working at ETG now. The healthcare scheme is good.

Cons

The CEO started positively but is now conspicuous by her absence. Management lie to employees. People are being made redundant by stealth. Unless you worked for Informa they have no interest in you - all the new jobs go to them. Check out LinkedIn to see how many of the senior management were part of Informa and they have no knowledge of the customer base.
