JLR Shannon advertise itself as leader in SW development. But they don't even understand automotive software.
All software projects are led by senior old school company people who don't have idea or vision how exactly software works. Any correction or suggestion are never listened and taken as dis-respect to them forget about
Leadership don't understand the modern methods, processes & tool of Automotive software. They force IT software practices for automotive embedded software which is totally different. They just choose bad process & tools and force it to engineers at the ground.
They have taken agile very seriously and to the heart. Too many POs and scrum masters at team, team within team, group, domain and so on levels. Around 80% of engineers time goes in agile/non-agile meetings, most of which are mandatory to attend.
People in Shannon and overall JLR just love to talk and keep talking without any actual work on the ground.
No growth opportunity or promotion for technically oriented engineers. Crazy promotions for big mouth people who just keep talking & talking without doing anything on the ground.
