Pros

If you are young(18-22) and just starting out in finance the bank is not a horrible place to build people skills. Other than this pro…. There is not much.

Cons

Oh boy where to start. SEVERALLY UNDERPAID. The job title is very misleading , you are not a chase private client banker … you are a glorified service person that is there to assist any customer who comes in with ANY issue they can think of. You are not incentivized to bring in big business, in-fact you get paid less once you bring in over a certain dollar amount. Leadership cares nothing about the bankers but more so about passing an audit(this is how they get bonuses) oh boy I could continue this is voluntary jail. Not to mention they are pushing bankers to have clients use “long term goals” and say it’s so revolutionary and how amazing it is, when they ask us to submit a financial goal of ours, the only realization is that to attain my own financial goal I would need to find a different company/ job. long story short RUN!

Pros

They are a powerhouse in the financial industry. The name is instantly recognizable and gives immediate basic credibility for the employee working there. Some great products and services when placed correctly.

Cons

COVID response was absurd. Requirements were unrealistic. Also, significant woke values make it problematic and often is at odds with the values of high net worth customers that I was actively seeking each day. Mandatory COVID testing if not vaccinated. Mask mandate significantly longer than other organizations. Mandatory after hours "Courageous Conversations" regarding George Floyd including an 8 minute moment of silence to replicate the amount of time he was kneeled on by the officer. I had to take a training specifically regarding my "white privilege" which was offensive and ridiculous. The social media oversight and requirements were very nitpicky which I have not had to face at other similar organizations. Pushing required pronouns in emails and other communications. Basically continuing to cater to the woke mob in every facet of the ignorant cause. No leeway or flexibility for those with different values.

Pros

Teamwork and atmosphere depends on which group you are a part. Make sure you ask lots of questions regarding your leadership and their style of leading.

Cons

Flexibility has been limited recently with chairman’s decision of everyone coming back to office. Many of us in technology are working in hybrid - 1/2 time WFH and 1/2 time office. Team collaboration is still limited due to COVID restrictions while in the physical office, we question the value of being in the office.
