Pros

The firm used to have a good reputation. It used to be known as a good employment law firm.

Cons

Jackson Lewis does not care about whether the lawyers who work there are happy. People are leaving all the time and they do not seem to care at all. They do nothing to change the culture. In fact, they keep making it worse.

Pros

-The support staff is mostly fantastic to get along and collaborate with -Some of the associates are truly bright spots beside the nose turning of the partners and the associates chasing spots as "principals" -Location is great -If you an important takes a liking to you, perhaps you can milk that into an "executive" position with vague job duties. Others have.

Cons

-There is a severe lack of training for support staff. They just throw you in there and expect you to learn via trial by fire. If you make a mistake, you are chastised despite not being given support. -The attorneys definitely treat staff/paralegals as second class citizens. Sometimes it is blatant with attorneys favoring certain staff. They will address one staff member and ignore the rest in a group. Very uncomfortable. -Some of the attorneys wait until the very last minute to meet deadlines on a consistent basis. Then you are expected to work overtime or are dragged through the mud because the blame of the deadline passing is placed on you! -Lots of nepotism. Pay attention to which attorney is married to who, which attorneys kid gets jobs at the firm, who is related to HR. It's insane. They get away with a lot. -The paralegal group is a revolving door. They have one paralegal that has been there for 20+ years and boy do they take advantage of her. The attorneys will give her work exclusively, not giving the other paralegals a chance for experience. -The office culture is terrible. It's quiet. No one interacts. There are no office outings. No incentives for staff. -Don't expect a bonus. -Absolutely no opportunity for advancement for support staff. You will not find a career here.

Pros

A job. Good benefits. No other positives except they provide free coffee, free sodas and water. Free parking, supplies. Nice office space.

Cons

Unfriendly, negative environment. No communication between staff members and arrogant attorneys. No training. Boring work. No teamwork. The only people happy here are the mean spirited ones that have worked here for years and can't get another job if they tried. Revolving door for attorneys and staff members.
