Pros

Great people and benefits. Work hours and load allowed for a good work/life balance. Pay was above average for the area and the field of engineering I worked in. Company is very committed to safety.

Cons

Company really doesn't value their employees. When people are laid off, it is effective immediately. Poor severance package. Little to no training in the office I worked in. Few promotions and little advancement.

Pros

Excellent place to gain industry experience. Exposure to clients( i.e. networking). This gave me the ability to increase my salary by nearly 30% when I left. Great work life balance at the alliance I worked at. Safety culture is second to none. High employee turn over rate yielded opportunity for increased responsibility. My alliance manager, discipline manager, and co-workers were top notch. Up to date on technology.

Cons

Benefits are awful. I paid over $9k out of pocket for a dependents broken arm on top of an expensive premium. Annual raises were dispersed evenly over department. If I'm a top performer; show me the money! High employee turn over rate sometimes effects project completion efficiency.
