Pros

Work Schedule (4-9hr, 1-4hr work week). Ability to work from home via Citrix connection. Travel. Ability to travel to different offices/projects.

Cons

My office is lacking leadership and sales. We are lucky to be small enough that we can get work from other offices. Jacobs is a big company and change is often hard to achieve and the process is slow. Jacobs grows by purchasing other firms. This results in a lot of different groups doing things in different ways. Sometimes that can be good, but often interoffice work suffers because of the different "standards"

Pros

Solid financials, some excellent people, wide range of projects with reasonable benefits

Cons

Weak management, internal self marketing is essential for continued employment. Incompetent, megalomaniac entrenched PM's allowed to run their own "mini kingdom". Good old boy club still very prevalent Without being in the "clique" it was impossible to find follow on projects as preferences made for those "inside"

Pros

Jacobs is fundamentally a company based upon its understanding of the value of human assets. Born out of its mammoth civil engineering and construction parenthood, Jacobs Technology demonstrates its caring for its people by building teams around the concept of safety and how important being safe is in all aspects of their employees lives. I learned that peoples safety is a universal connector that can enable great teams.

Cons

It is difficult to pinpoint a specific con for Jacobs. I wish they managed creativity more effectively. Very few companies really do manage creatively well so its hard to make this a specific con for Jacobs.
