Very rarely is it a 40 hr work week. Long hours are often needed in order to meet client deadlines.

Just lowered their 401k contribution from 10% to 5% because of a bad year.... might have something to do with them buying up all the competition

Projects span all sectors of Fire Protection Engineering, and now other safety fields. Locations all over the US. Opportunities to travel.

Cons

Experiencing growing pains with mergers and acquisitions. Company is growing at a faster pace than anticipated by employees -- not a lot of cohesion between groups, very segmented. Management talks a lot about making changes for the better, but as an employee the focus seems to just be about the money and the bottom line. Essentially, the engineering seems to have fallen to the wayside.
