      Pros

      Very smart people - all over the world. Compensation is good. Unlimited vacation time available. Very diverse. Buying a lot of companies, meaning there will be room for talented staffs to go up the ladder.

      Cons

      Forget unlimited vacation time. I got questioned from the manager when I used 2 sick days from obvious, sickness, got scolded for using 4 hours of leave which I ended up using for work anyway, Unlimited means nothing if mgmt give you crap about using them anyway. This company forces you to have billables, but mgmt does not care that there is no work to bill to and there is no work, so as an engineer I get pulled in more to create a marketing material etc... Mgmt promised the world when they brought me on board.. not a thing was kept. Promotions are based on who mgmt favor. Frankly, I wake up each morning miserable, wanting to jump off the bridge, I had so much expectation from this company but I don't think I'll be able to stand it anymore.

      Bigger is not always better

      Pros

      Excellent technical staff, very good IT systems

      Cons

      JH is not employee owned (owned by an investment management firm) which shows as they are not concerned about company/staff growth but increasing the value of the company. Extremely poor decisions in past years have decimated the senior staff. Very poor bonus structure.

      Pros

      My commute to work was convenient, as it was close to home.

      Cons

      The company is very disorganized as there have been too many mergers so there is a lack of direction and focus. Also, management is highly partial towards new employees, as they tolerate unprofessional behaviour and foul language used by other employees. Moreover, it is a highly pressurizing work environment and a lack of training.
