They seem to do a good job of employing friendly people. There are decent opportunities for benefits if you plan on making this a career choice.

Pros

Working at Jewel was a pleasure at times and awful at times. My experience was directly related to the competency of my manager. The pay was decent for the position compared to minimum wage at the time, and I did receive time and a half for overtime.

Cons

Paying union dues was not favorable for me, because as a worker of around 15 hours per week, the union did not give me enough benefits to warrant the dues (in my opinion).
