Just don't work here.
The pay is not good at all for the work you do. They start you off with 8.50 an hour. They had promised to raise it to 8.70 by the end of my first 30 days, but they never did. You have to deal with very mean and neglectful district managers, very mean customers, and complete tasks that are almost impossible to complete by the end of your shift if there are waves of customers.
Ever since we had a new district manager in the store, she has assigned our department more tasks on top of what we normally do. If you call for assistance, the district managers will look at you as if you should have not bothered them even if you just had a question.
9 out of 10 customers are just straight up mean and very persistent. The most complaints are about not being able to slice meat or cheese thinner than a piece of paper. They usually stand with their arms crossed and very stern looks on their faces as they watch everything that you do even if you smile at them.
Even some of the current employees working there cannot stand how the deli is now.
