Pros

Work with friends, develop a hard work ethic. Easy to move up if you want to go that route.

Cons

To Jimmy John's, you are a replaceable robot, not a human being. Whether you are a general manager, any sort of assistant, or just a driver, you do not mean anything to anybody besides bringing in money and devoting your life to the company. Horrible chain of command that treats others despicably from top to bottom. Low pay, no raises, unless you want to become a manager and say goodbye to any upside in your life. Long hours, no breaks, and no employee discount. Every day is a constant reminder that you mean nothing and the company simply does not care about you.

Pros

Co-workers are mostly nice, you always have music to listen too, and customers are nice

Cons

They expect you to memorize all the sandwiches by name and number and ingredients. You aren't allowed to have a "cheat sheet" out above the sandwich table. Yet they still want you to be super fast and efficient. My first week there I had to memorize everything in a few days, I was having a hard time because they would bark out the orders either by the name or number and it was confusing remember what was what. I was beat down by certain workers for not memorizing it fast enough and eventually was "laid off" because they over hired. What I found funny was even after they said I wasn't a good fit due to not being able to memorize the sandwiches they called on "customer appreciation day" to ask if I would work since it would be busy. If i wasn't good enough to work on a regular basis, why would you call to have to me there on a crazy busy day?

Pros

I enjoyed biking around the city as a delivery driver.

Cons

They charge you for food unless you work a double shift, which is 8 hours, but will purposely schedule you 7hr 45 minute shifts. There were cameras everywhere making sure the employees weren't eating. The pay was dismal- minimum wage. The music was grating. Alt rock at all times. An assistant manager nearly chopped his thumb off on the deli slicer and was offered no help for anything for the month that he was out of work.
