Pros

The team of employees is excited about the product and company There are a lot of very competent employees The Cert team is experienced and offers a lot of wonderful guidance to the teams Team members are all driven and ambitious, no one sits in the corner playing solitaire open communication The company has been able to grow significantly and maintain the awesome culture If you seek out conferences and courses they support your attendance On campus meals are top notch well funded

Cons

missing qualified mid level management the organization is too large to be so flat, there are no career paths pay is lower than other eVTOL companies Santa Cruz is a strange place and expensive the use of slack is both a blessing and a curse, EVERYONE is allowed to have an opinion which means decisions take way longer than they should certain teams have hired a lot of intelligent capable aerospace engineers, but their leads are under qualified and their talents are wasted

Pros

--Extremely rewarding project --Ability to grow, mature, and advance in career is unparalleled. --Hyper-focus on safety. --Discipline leaders are highly skilled --Company is not afraid to part ways with under-performing individuals to make way for high-performing teammates.

Cons

--If an employee requires regular adjustment to work plan or hyper-frequent managerial contact, success can be difficult for that employee. --The flat-style organization, while maturing rapidly, can create a sense of a loose coalition of small teams. --Salary on the low side, but fair. --Work force needs diversification, which is happening, to happen faster. Compensation&Benefits: I removed one star for slightly-below-average salary but left four stars due to STELLAR benefits package. Work/Life Balance: I removed two stars due to the effort required to maintain good balance with such an engaged team and rewarding project. If you are not careful, life will become work. Senior Management: I removed one star for a lack of sufficient mid-level planning. Year-to-year planning is wonderful and daily planning is very efficient, but month-to-month level planning needs work. Culture&Values: I removed one star for the lack of fully diverse team. Culture is fantastic, but slightly tainted by homogeneity of work force.

Pros

The Joby team is made up of world class, self starters, who are inspirational, dedicated, and passionate. The range of experience includes military (F-35/Harrier), commercial aviation (Boeing, Gulf Stream, Icon, Cirrus), electric automotive (Tesla), private sector space (Scaled/TSC), NASA, etc. The product is a game changing intersection of beauty and engineering. Joby is situated at multiple locations, some remote in the forest and some in the city. Gourmet meals are prepared on site and served breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Cons

Can be lower pay, but equity seems promising, expensive housing.
