Pros

The Joby team is made up of world class, self starters, who are inspirational, dedicated, and passionate. The range of experience includes military (F-35/Harrier), commercial aviation (Boeing, Gulf Stream, Icon, Cirrus), electric automotive (Tesla), private sector space (Scaled/TSC), NASA, etc. The product is a game changing intersection of beauty and engineering. Joby is situated at multiple locations, some remote in the forest and some in the city. Gourmet meals are prepared on site and served breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Cons

Can be lower pay, but equity seems promising, expensive housing.

Pros

Amazing team. Collaborating with some of the smartest people on the planet. Amazing project. Always challenging and stimulating to solve new problems. Amazing place. The environment is magical; surrounded by wilderness.

Cons

I don't have any cons. But you have to be dedicated and ready to work hard. If you want a cushy 9-5, this probably isn't the place.

Cool people, bad company to work for

Pros

There’s a lot of fun benefits, and the people are generally really awesome and engaging to work with.

Cons

The company management is just bad. They show little care for employees. They did a engagement survey and said we’ll do a bunch to mitigate these issues and never followed up. There’s no real compensation changes. Went 16 months without a raise after we went public and got a ton of money. They’re hemorrhaging people, many important engineers have left. Moving between teams, difficult, moving up also difficult. Expect the same dead spot for the next 6 years.
