Pros

Conservative, quiet, you'll leave by 5pm every day no matter who you are.

Cons

The famous credo is a thing of the past. Pay raises and bonuses are based on butt kissing. You can cure cancer and if you haven't kissed enough butts you'll never get thanked. Company is misogynistic, racist, anti-Semitic and management is clueless and profoundly stupid. The smartest people are at the bottom, as you move up, vision and action cease.

Pros

Pay is strong and opportunities seem to present at younger ages than other medical device companies. I work with many Sr. Director, VP, and even C Suite level team members who are 36-45 years old.

Cons

The unfortunately consequence of being a great company for existing employees (i.e. internal promotions, etc) is that I see quite a few senior team members who are really really bad at their functions and lack strong best practice and industry knowledge. In other businesses there would be leaders who would solve problems more quickly and achieve better results. The business keeps moving, but if you're a person with strong experience and industry knowledge you just scratch your head sometimes and ask yourself, "WTF are they doing?" Then you have to keep quiet because of office politics and just wait for it to hit the fan.

Pros

The y have good benefits

Cons

JnJ is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. They claim to be about the people but they are far from it. They have the Credo which is supposed to guide them in everything they do, but they do not live up to it any way. They are all about the bottom line and do not care for their employees. The Credo is a worthless piece of paper. They fired off our entire division without a care in the world, all while the they kept funding projects and people that were completely unscrupulous. Avoid this company at all costs. The reason they have so many lawsuits against them is because they deserve it. Can't wait to be done with this company and am actively seeking a new job, since they treated the rest of our team so terribly.
