Cons

employees were told no raises for the past 2 years, but executive mgmt team got LARGE raises. Company does not value or promote any sort of life balance or benefits geared towards life balance No importance put on career development or formal review process Growth of business has caused major disorganization Lack of any sort of Corporate Communications strategy leader does not invoke inspiration or rapport with employees Promotion opps and praise are based on hours put into your job, not actual performance of your job Key Leaders do not have kids and lack empathy for core customer - parent. man

Pros

Teach from home and a lot of the teachers are amazing teachers

Cons

Terrible communication. Constant changes and miscommunication are the norm. Teachers are not valued, respected, or appreciated. Teachers have been instructed to take out the curriculum in the courses and replace it with power points filled with whatever that teacher felt was important or had the time to do in the very quick deadline given. The curriculum is awful now, Teachers are only given 30 minutes to teach a lesson, some classes only meet twice a week. The asynchronous courses are a travesty. All opportunities for growth and upward mobility have been taken away. No raises. Bonuses are based on a moving target that the company only tells you about after state scores have been released and conveniently set the marks to be beyond what the school did as a whole. It all seems very shady and illegal at times. Morale is low. Teachers are crying in staff meetings.

Pros

Employees are generally supported in their desire to learn and increase their skills, even if the opportunities to advance as a result of that growth are few and far between.

Cons

* There's a lot of talk about helping to make a good education available to every child, no matter their obstacles. But the focus on the bottom line is really the only thing that drives anything akin to innovative changes. * There's a toxicity about the culture, but I could never put my finger on the cause or the nature of it.
