      Pros

      Some of the people are not so bitter, but the vast majority are The managers seem to be able to survive with no great turnover There is work but no real bench strength

      Cons

      A really poor work environment where survival is the key There is really no incentive to do well or to get ahead since it's not recognized The management team do not listen nor do they appreciate the hard work of key individuals People are leaving in droves and there is an increasingly negative work atmosphere with people desperate to get out

      Don't join IT at any cost in KLA. You will regret almost everyday regarding your decision

      Pros

      Compensation ( May be) interesting work - so far

      Cons

      Lack of leadership at the senior management level ( Directors and above) No clear objectives or direction given to the senior managers or below. Promotions are given to the people who threaten to leave None knows where IT is going on as long term plans are never discussed ( even for next six months ) Atleast 7 resignations since Aug-2010 and still counting- Best part - No replacement requisitions opened for any of them.

      Pros

      Extremely challenging problems to solve, many in "bleeding edge" of technology. The "worker bees" are characteristically great to work with, very collaborative.

      Cons

      The company got large enough that the inputs from bean counters became significant. It seems that once the founders hand over control of a company to others, the goals shift. Rick Wallace's goals are to maximize his personal ROI, no matter what happens to the company. I believe Mr. Wallace's goals are to make KLA-Tencor a good acquisition target ... perhaps for ASML or AMAT.
