Pros

Above average compensation in Singapore. Standardized engineering methods. Plenty of moral boosting activities. Production ATE (non-degree holder) can earn satisfying income. Core business can be profitable for another 5 years, safe for mid term income consideration.

Cons

Operational based mindset in Singapore, talents are not valued. Operational-only functionality in Singapore leading to political culture and little chance for personal development. Engineer salary is pitiful. Low end management is not qualified, and it is selected based on the controlling point of view from higher management rather than capability.

I work for HR and I've read many of the reviews below. While I cannot go into much detail, what I'm hearing is consistent and is of no surprise.

Cons

We do have problems in IT and it's been persisting for several years. But we cannot just fire or reprimand managers because they're incompetent or below standard. Yes, there has been tremendous attrition, but this is symptomatic of the tremendous competition in the Valley for good people
