Pros

Big 4 is the Big 4. Get the experience wherever you can but as I compare my experience at KPMG against what I've heard from friends at other firms, we're able to take more PTO, managers ans partners are more supportive of flexible work schedules (working from home/leaving early), highly intelligent coworkers and never ending knowledge sharing and learning.

Cons

When you value work life balance and a life outside of KPMG, you will likely grow to despise the rating system at KPMG. You can provide quality work, but you are always competing against some peers who go more than just above and beyond.

Pros

Working for a big four firm provides valuable experiences as a result of a more complex and large scale client base.

Cons

The culture in the Philadelphia office is deplorable! The partners and senior managers in the Federal Tax group have created a toxic work environment with a sink-or-swim mentality. There is no team environment, instead the role you play feels more like piece meal or cubicle confinement with little or no teaching outside of the classroom CPE's.
