Pros

Good starting pay, good Big 4 recognition, good training.

Cons

Decisions about promotions and layoffs are made by higher ups who have no idea how you actually performed. A popularity contest. Even though the managers and seniors who directly worked with you may say you did a great job, if you don't kiss up to the partners you won't get anywhere.

Pros

Great Benefits. Overall from a management consulting perspective, the work environment is a lot better than those of publicly listed consulting firms (Accenture, Capgemini, etc). Management is focused on the long term growth, and is willing to invest in growing practices. Overall the culture is very collegiate, unlike other firms. The firm provides plenty of training for employees.

Cons

Coming from a management consulting firm, I found the culture to revolves around risk. It is understandable for Audit, Tax and Internal audit engagments, but complicates regular management consulting engagements (BPS) with unnecessary work being perfomed to comply with the firm's "work paper" policy. Overall I find the firm to be fairly bureaucratic with significant layers of management
