KPMG - a great place to work

Pros

I'm proud to say that I work for KPMG. Sometimes the hours are long, which is to be expected. I believe that the company does everything it can to keep us happy. Sometimes it gets lost in the trickle down to line level employees but the good intentions are there, which is alot more than I can say of some of my previous employers. Work hard and you will be recognized and promoted.

Cons

You're not always appreciated. Sometimes the hours are long. There are people that make it not such a great place to work. But it is a career... not a vacation. The downsides are that of any job.

Pros

KPMG has an excellent reputation in the market, and is making solid progress to becoming the top Big 4 Firm. There are a breadth of opportunities within the organization, and there is solid support in terms of training and career development. Having KPMG on your resume can definitely lead to great opportunities down the road - as they say, "KPMG is a great place to start your career".

Cons

Unfortunately, the benefits of KPMG come at a pretty high price, especially as you move up in level. There is a very cut-throat culture internally, especially within the Advisory practice. Team building and cross-functional cooperation is almost non-existent. You are remembered more for your deficits than for your accomplishments. KPMG is trying desperately to provide some structure and process around its go to market approach, but a pervasive territorial mentality is making it very difficult.
