Pros

Lots of PTO (5 weeks) but with all the hours worked during busy season it evens out. Early leave on Fridays during the summer. Decent perks (i.e. summer outings, free gifts and food, yearly training in Orlando or other parts of the country, etc.) Some freedom to come in late or leave early and get up an go out for walks/coffee breaks. Work from home a few times a year. Locations all over the country and world so transfers are not so hard. Necessary to get good accounting jobs in the private world. Almost every place prefers Big 4 experience.

Cons

Busy season = no life. Really need to get your CPA to make it up the ladder. Too many administrative things need to be done in addition to your actual job.

Pros

Good benefits and profit sharing.

Cons

New manger and team leaders are cut-throat. Make up lies to make themselves look good and you look bad. Worked there almost 10 years with great reviews. New manager comes in and I am told my work sucks. Watch your back and who you talk to. Be careful of what you say and try to stay on everyone's good side. You will be pushed out if you're not "liked" 10 years and one bad seed ruined my career with this Big 4.

Pros

-Good to write on resume -You will have enough work to do if you are a workaholic

Cons

-People back stab more often than you would imagine. -I have worked with some terrible seniors who lack appropriate morale. Many of them just consider the staffs as a tool rather than a person. -Work/Life balance is terrible during busy season. Expect to leave work around midnight or even later. -The company pretends that it cares about your personal development and career, but it only is interested in how much they can utilize you for their benefit. -Corporate-like culture with a good number of cocky people. -Pay is low. Lower than the mid-size firms. If you calculate the hourly rate, it would be not that different from the minimum wage.
