Having a flexible schedule and amazing co-workers including leadership is one of the best benefits of this job. It's a given I want to help children and families; but being able to do that with my work family is worth all the stressors related to human services.

Cons

It's by nature an emotionally stressful position helping children and families in crisis. You can also find yourself thrown in and unprepared because it hard to train for everything. Rely on your support system.
