Pros

A typical day at KVC looks different for each worker. Due to the nature of the job, most employees create their own schedule seeing clients in the community. As most child welfare jobs, it is high stress. However, the flexibility of creating your own schedule is great. You can flex out time if you work late and take mental health days if needed. The culture can be toxic, i am sure this is anywhere though. I feel that most supervisors do a great job engaging with their team and keeping everyone connected. Pay is not great but it is social work after all.

Cons

Low pay, long hours, on call.

Pros

Enjoy working at KVC. Value my coworkers, foster youth and foster parents I interact with on a daily basis. The flexibility with my work schedule is an added bonus.

Cons

On-Call is a challenge and can include long hours.

Pros

KVC has a lot of understanding supervisors who try to work with you in all aspects of life. There is a lot of flexibility available within the job usually which is great when it comes to family.

Cons

Compensation could be better for work loads.
