Pros

Nothing I could ever think of.

Cons

Couple of years ago I used to work at Kaiser in their DCSS group as a contractor. It was one of the worst group to work for because of the terrible leadership team. The leadership team consisted of 3 people who were all from the same place in India (TamilNadu). The worst part was that they used to speak in their language (Tamil) in front of non-Tamil speaking people. There goes professionalism out of the door. They would address you as if you were a dog and talk to you as if you are a cheap laborer. DISGUSTING. I even heard one of the 3 people mention that he wants to make DCSS a mini TamilNadu. This was height of unprofessionalism. I was shocked when I heard that statement. They will hire you promising that you will be working on cutting edge technologies but a few days into the job they will pressurize you in doing some pathetic work. If you try to complain about the work then you will be blacklisted and the only option you would have would be to leave Kaiser. PATHETIC PEOPLE PATHETIC PLACE. They will spend millions (yes millions) of Kaiser funds in doing some pathetic work and again some more millions in fixing the mess they created in the first place. Looks like there is no accountability here. If you happen to be from the same place in India (TamilNadu) with mediocre skills then you will be treated like an Emperor. I know one person who was on vacation all the time and when he came back from vacation, GUESS WHAT, he was promoted to a team lead position. Why, because he was from TAMILNADU. I read somewhere that "Kaiser was one of the best places to work in IT". What a joke!!!. Complete BS. This has to be one of the worst places. Seriously folks, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM Kaiser. Take your good talent some where else. Horrible Horrible people and experience. While working there I always used to feel as someone is plotting a game plan against you. It was a very chaotic environment. One day you will be working on a particular project and the next day the priority will suddenly change without any explanation and you will be working on a totally different project. Extremely De-motivating experience. HR, please wake up and take some action. This is happening right under your nose and you have no clue. Please fire the top leadership. I worked there less than 1 year and I was much happier on my last day with them than on the first day when I joined them. Leadership, please resign.

Pros

Some good people, but I fantastic mission.

Cons

Weak vp/svp's more interested in politics and visibility than doing good work and supporting teams/employees. Teams full of employees looking to retire in place with no concerns of not performing.

Pros

The pay and benefits were great. Time off was always granted if asked in a good amount of time. Most of the time there were hours that could be picked up in different departments to fill in the gaps.

Cons

I guess since they pay well, the management thinks they can treat you however. Personal life and work life balance sucked if you went full time and had an emergency. Personally I experienced the worst treatment by my Department Administration and supervisors because I was being beaten and mistreated by my husband at the time. They forced me out of my position after 11 years with the company, and illegally wrote me up while on medical leave after trying to commit suicide. Union is friends with management and didn’t like to step in to try and help. I lost everything and almost my life and they didn’t care. I was barred from getting a transfer and to this day I apply to positions and am told I don’t qualify for things that I do. This company is backwards. Workers cheat the system to get away with stealing company time. Employees that have worked there for years have what is known as Kaiseritis. They are lazy and do nothing. Management knows and let’s it continue. DAs are not well versed in the departments they run. If you don’t brown nose you won’t get hours. As a MA I found that 6 RNs we’re making medication errors on 1 patient and was targeted for any move I made because they were friends with some of the supervisors. It is ridiculous. It is all about who you know, not what you know there.
