Pros

Work from home positions available.

Cons

pay is not equal for all employees in the same position, even when the company raised the minimum wage for a position, they did not increase the employees who were currently making under the minimum. must provide your own equipment to work from home.

Management is Clueless

Pros

I love my coworkers. They make the job tolerable. No weekends as of yet.

Cons

Certain directors that rhyme with mott billmore are clueless and demanding way too much of lower staff. Problems haven’t been fixed and all the C-suite team cares about is revenue and refuses to listen to staff.

Pros

-I worked as an English Instructor for all international adults. The job itself was a lot of fun. Working with all international students and the cultural and language challenges that brings is super fun overall. -The work environment greatly depends on your management team. Luckily mine was more laid back, so I felt more trusted as an employee overall.

Cons

-Basically even from the beginning when interviewed, the listing said “instructor,” but they didn’t tell me until halfway through they only needed substitutes. I wouldn’t have wasted my time. -They basically lead you on. They make you think that they’re going to give you more hours. They give new teachers “teacher of the month” (multiple times) to make you think admin likes you and you might have more classes in the future, (morning and afternoon), but really it’s just to make you stay. -They can end your class at the drop of a dime and put you on the sub list. Even though I quickly got my own class, they would end even when students weren’t ready to be moved up to the next level, because they don’t want to pay you, basically. And when they just up and decide to merge your class with another one, you’re lucky if you get notified at all. I was only notified 4 days prior to my class ending and being put back on the sub list. There’s zero work stability, and because of that, high turnover rate. - I worked with teachers with masters degrees, working 3 jobs. That shouldn’t be a thing in my opinion. These are super talented, educated, hard-working individuals. -My particular location, the staff was also just ridiculously gossipy, and I do think management should step in. I would hear constant criticism of staff, and it got old fast. (Honestly though, I think if people had work stability, they probably wouldn’t feel the need to compete so hard with each other and put everyone else down.)
