Pros

I worked in the Career Services department for 8 months. My co-workers were great and my boss was good.

Cons

Placing unqualified students into ANY position that will help us fill our quotas. The students are not educated and they accept anyone who can write their name. I was a proctor for potential incoming students and one woman came in and didn't know how to use a computer to do anything. I believe I saw her in the hallways weeks later.

If You Like Unstable and Cheap Work Environments

Pros

Work from home. Talented and educated work force (NOT management).

Cons

Terrible Pay. It is bleak and too embarrassing to tell anyone what you really get paid. Constant "restructuring". Every few months processes are being changed, positions are eliminated. You live in constant fear of your entire department being let go. So many changes you often don't even know who you work with. Lateral organization. No room for advancement. Claims of transparency but an underlying feeling of "more changes coming" at all times. Since people are always getting laid off, employees are constantly taking on more work, permanently and for no extra pay.

More concerned with the bottom line than their employees and customers

Pros

cant think of any thing

Cons

Very immature, unprofessional managers that have no problem lying to customers and employees to cover their own inadequate performances. As an employee, be prepare to be a scapegoat for anything that could possibly be attributed to you whether it is part of your job or not. The processes and systems (or lack thereof) made it impossible to do ones job effectively.
