Pros

Very flexible work hours; set your own schedule Encouraged to think creatively about position and try new things Good performance is rewarded with increase in pay Migrating to becoming a more digital company, so technology tools are gradually getting better

Cons

IT support in main office is inefficient/insufficient Budgets only exist at territory/national level --The budget con is the most debilitating to employees in the field. Leads to lack of empowerment in making decisions and getting things done Commission plans are a joke and unethically issued --Company will set forth market-level sales goals w/o providing commission plans associated... Will give quarter-based commission plans to employees a month and a half into the quarter, hence the ethical concern. Where management is incompetent, no one knows --Simply put: when working remotely/from home, it is very easy to suck at your job and make sure no one knows about it... And if you tell someone, you're throwing your boss under the bus

Pros

Kaplan will give a chance to a new graduate where other companies might be weary. At my particular campus, there is a real sense of family and working together although I hear it is not the same at all locations.

Cons

The pay is not worth all the work you will be doing. I have worked there for about 5 years and have seen people with less education and experience come in making more than people who have the education and invested time with the company. There are a lot of inconsistencies with what you are told to do and what is expected of you. You will get a lot of broken promises about promotions. I was guaranteed promotions 3 times and each time I was given some reason for it not happening yet they still expected me to do the work of the jobs I was told I would have in addition to my current position.
